How your make-up can damage your health !

Toxic chemical based make-up can lead to ill-health

Most people innocently use toxic makeup or hygiene products every single day.

In this article I will discuss how make up products can damage your health.  Please always read the label to know what you are applying to your body.

Several of these products, such as body washes, lotions, shampoos, lip-stick, cosmetics and even toothpastes, are high in toxins and harmful chemicals that can weaken your immunity and lead to illness and cancer.

In fact, the use of such harmful products on the skin or scalp is more detrimental to the body than you can even imagine. Yeah.

Harmful chemicals on the skin get absorbed into the bloodstream through capillaries just under the skin surface, without any filtering.

From there these chemicals are transported to the cells responsible for providing immunity and protecting you from disease and cancer.

This can have a direct impact on the long run on how well your immune system functions.

A 2003 study published in the Journal of Hospital Infection reports that regular exposure to alcohol-based hygiene products leads to loss of the skin’s natural protective barrier.

This in turn makes you more vulnerable to bacteria, molds and viruses.

Other chemicals, such as mecury, steroids, imidazolidinyl urea, DMDM hydantoin and triclosan riclosan, used in makeup products are linked to suppression of the immune system.

They can also cause allergies, rashes, angio-neurotic oedema as well as cancer and other health problems.

Avoid the harmful chemical-based makeup products for an all-natural look if you can.

If needed, opt for products with fewer chemicals and make it a habit to read the ingredient list before buying anything. Remember to wash off your make-up before going to bed.

Palm Wine - Aphrodisiac, Health Benefits to Man ?

Much better than beer and grape wine and loved by bees, Palm  wine is a natural juice, a white translucent sap of a variety of palm trees.  Although I have never climbed up a palm tree, I do own a few trees in the village. Professional tappers are normally hired to climb the palm. After tapping the tree, they position a calabash to collect the constant flow of nectar.  The nectar flows up the palm naturally by osmosis and is harvested twice a day for 5 consecutive days. No artificial prservatives are used. The most delicious palm wine or better called palm juice is gotten at the bottom of the tree when the taper comes down. I should know, been there, done it. In Igbo culture, a tribe that originates in West Africa  in the south-east of present day Nigeria,  the tapper gets paid in kind with a share of the wine. The owner of the palm tree gets the palm wine for 3 days and the tapper's share is 2 days. Then the palm tree gets to rest for 2 days...
